In December 2025, Dr. Chunqi Jiang participated in a sampling campaign at the Super-Kamiokande facility in Kamioka, Japan.

Water samples from inside the detector system were collected for microbial and environmental analyses, providing an opportunity to investigate microbial presence in ultra-pure engineered water environments.
