ISME20 in Auckland

Dr. Chunqi Jiang is participating in ISME20, the 20th International Symposium on Microbial Ecology, which is being held in Auckland, New Zealand, from 16 to 21 August 2026.

Conference note

Dr. Jiang is sharing his current work and exchanging ideas with colleagues working on microbial diversity, evolution, and ecosystem functions.

His poster focuses on marine Chloroflexi, especially SAR202 lineages, and explores how their ecological distributions and metabolic traits vary with depth across the global ocean. Through genome-resolved metagenomics and comparative genomic analyses, this work aims to better understand how uncultivated marine microorganisms adapt to oceanic depth gradients and contribute to biogeochemical processes.
